Hello, my name is [Janalee Hansen Jacobson]!

250px-Nappanee-indiana-amish-acres.jpgBrigham City, Utah

Home town
: I live in Granger Indiana, with my Husband, daughter and mother.
Granger has been our home for over 2 years. We have enjoyed living in the
midwest and love all the new and fun places to visit and explore.
I am originally from Brigham City Utah,(Tabernacle on Main Street in Brigham)
where my grandmother Helen Overmyer Mason lived durning her senior years.

MORE ABOUT ME...

I joined this wiki because:I love learning about my family.

The best word to describe me is:Outgoing, with a good sense of humor(I hope:-))

Interests:I love to be crafty!! I like ready books (just about any Jane Austin book will do)spending time with my family, painting, drawing ,and teaching art lessons. I love music and am known for having music on all the time. If I could sing I would. I also enjoy fishing, cooking, riding my bike and working in my garden.

Favorite movies/TV shows:American Idol!!!( if I could sing I would so be on that show!!)
Master Piece Theater especially the classics(Jane Austin AGAIN) and Top Chef. My favorite movies...I like so many but a few of my favorites are The Green Mile, Shaw Shank Redemption, Pride and Prejudice (of coarse) and Wives and Daughters.
My hero (es) in my Overmyer family ancestry :
My Grandma Helen Overmyer Mason, she was a sweet little lady:-)

Why I think a Overmyer Reunion is important:It is always good to know those who share your history! What a great opportunity to learn something new that you didn't know before.

How my branch of the family can help : We are more then willing to share any information about our ancestors that we have. We truly believe in the importance of knowing who you are and where you come from.

Favorite Overmyer family story:It is not so much a story that I have to share as it is about what I remember about my grandma Mason that made her so special to me. As a little girl I loved to have grandma come and visit. She always had the most wonderful jewelry (I don't think that there was a time when she didn't wear any) and as a young girl I loved to try on all of grandma's jewels. She always had her nails painted and carried a purse that never failed to contained a little treat for me ,usually pink peppermint candy. She was a tiny lady with a big personalty, I passed her up in height when I was in the 4th grade (she was just under 5 feet tall). She would come and take my mother and myself to lunch and because she was so tiny she had to scoot the seat up so that she could touch the pedals to drive the car.We use to joke about this because if you looked at the car a certain way it would look like the car was driving itself. Her Hair was white and it had a wave to it that always made it look so soft and perfectly styled. Her eyes where a soft blue giving her a perfect grandma look. She had a great laugh and a spunky sense of humor. You knew when grandma was in the room and she let you just what she was thinking. I have many found memories of the times that my grandma spent with or family.

What else you should know about me: I love to learn, and I love to hear stories about people. I am married to Gary Jacobson and we have 1 teenage daughter Rylee.
